6 ways to stay healthier, happier, and more vibrant

Many of us do the best we can to simply stay as healthy as possible, and this includes doing a few small things that we might not think about all the time. But these small things can make a big difference, not only in how we feel but in how well our bodies perform and age as well.

First, kick the smoking habit. Yes, I know you are addicted, but it is hurting your body! Chew gum, take tablets, do whatever you need to do to stop this habit. This hurts your lungs, your mouth, and the people around you. Your health will drastically improve once you kick this unhealthy habit.

Second, get enough sleep. Studies show that Americans are getting less and less sleep. Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep at night, and you will be amazed at what this small change can do for your health.

Next, eat plenty of fruits. If at all possible, try substituting fruits for junk food in your diet. So, next time you want a fast food grease-burger, get yourself a Kiwi or some Grapes instead! Strawberries, Blueberries, Cranberries, Apples, Oranges, all of these have tremendous amounts of vitamins that will help your body fight off disease and build your immune system.

Next, reduce your stress level. You can accomplish this in one of several different ways. Maybe take some yoga classes, or maybe take up some hobbies that you enjoy. Maybe a trip to the spa once a week will accomplish this, but it is proven that stress hurts you, so do what it takes to alleviate this.

And lastly, get some exercise. Run, jog, go to the gym, ride a bike, or whatever it is that you like to do. But the point is that you DO something besides sitting at a desk.
