So, are you like me in the way that you have trouble staying energized through a long work day (especially Monday)? Well, don’t worry. Many people deal with a lack of energy during the day, and you are not the first one to have a problem with it. But what you might not know is that there are things you can do to increase your energy and help revitalize you through the day. Some simple diet, eating, and exercise habits can go a long way towards making your day an energized one, not one that just drags by in a dreary, sleepy, boring fashion.
First, you can eat food that will help energize you. Eat breakfast, but then pack yourself some snacks through the day that can give you an extra boost. Foods like granola bars, fruit bars, and fresh fruit are the best.
Second, you can stay hydrated. Dehydration helps cause your body to feel weak and groggy, so staying hydrated is a great way to keep your energy up. And mix it up… make sure to drink plenty of water, but also mix in some sports drinks like Gatorade so that you get some electrolytes in your system.
And finally, get plenty of rest. Getting enough sleep every night can really make a difference the next morning. A night spent without getting enough sleep will result in you feeling groggy, sleepy, and sloppy all day long. So get to get early, and get your eight in before you need to get up! Also, lay off the caffeine drinks. A cup of coffee or two is ok, and even some energy drinks… but when you need these all day just to function, you know that something is wrong.
